Saving the Date
Planning you’re wedding, and figuring out your stationary needs…. Invitations, RSVP cards, Programs, Menu…. Why “Save the Dates” and how are they different from invitations?
Save the Dates is a more informal notice that is sent out before the invitation. Having save the dates are not required, sending them out is entirely up to you. Many can just skip the extra cost and use it else where in the planning, But for those who event date falls close to or on a specific date (i.e. Christmas, New Years Eve or day, 4th of July) then doing a save the date will be notably useful. If your event happens to be in a foreign destination or many of your guest have to travel, either by air, train or car then sending a save the date will give them enough notice before they get an invitation to decide if they plan to make the trip or not.
When considering a Save the Date you can choose a tone that can express more of you and your spouse personality. Save the Dates can be formal, fun and colorful, or supper creative. I have seen save the date shot/drinking glasses, postcards, magnates, candy bars, and digital picture frames. However much of you –you want to do, it is open possibilities.
The nice thing is that they don’t have to match your invitations, so if you are going really formal for your event, but want to express your more of your fun and outgoing personality, go for it. Your favorite color is purple but it won’t be your wedding color, so what. Your save the date can be however you want. And they are not just for weddings you know. You can use them with just about any event like anniversaries, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvahs, family reunions and so much more.
If you are doing a save the date it must always have: The Names, Date and Event.
If you have it you can also include other information you feel is important, like: event website, hotel info, flight info and some times you may see “invitation to fellow” just so people won’t be confused that this is not a formal invitation.
*Remember when sending a Save the Date to be careful that it isn’t going to anyone that will not be invited later on.

So As you may or may not know I am on the search for a job, but not just any job one that I am good at and will enjoy doing for a long part of my life, oh yeah! and it has to be full-time employment. So in this process of looking and applying I find myself doing a lot and I mean a lot of updating. Updating everything from my resume, my website, (check it out at www.toroyaldesigns.com) online accounts which I have so many I can’t keep count. Updating my skills, that goes for designing and interviewing, oh yeah and of course my wardrobe. Although I haven’t done much shopping, I still manage to stay updated in my fashion, thanks to knowing how to sewing and (re)construction clothing. On top of all that I also do all the updating for my husband company. Who just so happen to be going through a complete redesign. I just really hope that the new year brings some good fortunes my way.
Peace to you all and if you are like me and looking for work, Good fortunes to you as well.
